SUMMARY:Big Boy Clinic
DESCRIPTION:The clinic begins the morning of Friday\, June 5th and finishes the afternoon of Sunday June 7th. Each day will have a combination of drills and skill building\, trail riding to reinforce those drills\, and some free ride time with the coaches in a more free-form atmosphere. We will be in groups of 7-8 with at least two coaches per group (one head\, one assistant). Coaches will rotate through the groups throughout the weekend so you get a variety of perspectives and teaching styles. On Sunday you get to pick which coach you ride with for dedicated training in a variety of fields\, from jumps to drops to climbing and more. We have clinic photographers\, so dress to impress because you never know when your image might be chosen for a billboard\, poster\, or this page’s cover shot! \nCost\nCost for the clinic in 2026 is estimated at $425. This includes 2.5 days of instruction with some of the best coaches in the business\, tasty lunches and snacks each day\, coffee and breakfast bakery one of the mornings\, bonus evening hangouts and info sessions with coaches\, swag\, and\, shuttles at East Bluff on Saturday. A portion of the proceeds from the event help support the Copper Harbor Trails\, making our system even better for your next visit. \nLodging\nOur lodging sponsor is the Bella Vista Motel. Please book there and tell them you are part of the clinic and you will get the spring season rates plus they will donate a portion of the proceeds from each room night we book. Stay there to help support the Copper Harbor Trails Club! \nBike Gear\nYou need a bike that can handle singletrack mountain bike trails and a helmet. Pads are never a bad idea but are not required. If you are deciding on pedals\, go flat as this will help advance your skills faster than clipless (not to mention quicker during repeated sessioning). Full suspension bikes will be more comfortable\, but by all means\, if all you have is a hardtail then don’t feel like you have to upgrade to join. Any bike from the past several years with front suspension will be more than plenty to get you through. Perhaps the most important piece of gear for your bike you can invest in is a dropper post. If you do not have one yet\, strongly consider upgrading to speed up your downhill transitions\, stability\, and all around comfort on the bike. At minimum\, a quick release adjustable seat post is a must. Don’t be that guy who needs five minutes before every hill to adjust your seat because we will leave you behind. \nE-Bikes\nClass 1 E-bikes are welcome into the clinic! If you need an E-bike to get around or just want to save your legs some strain\, feel free to bring yours along. Depending on how many participants with E-bikes there are and their skill level\, we may have dedicated E-bike groups. Otherwise you will be placed in groups with non-E-bike users and you’ll have to ride at their pace. All skill levels of E-bike user are welcome. Let us know if you have any questions! \nWeather\nWe ride rain or shine. In 2018 our weekend ended with the unimaginable Father’s Day flood that struck the Keweenaw\, dumping 5-7″ of rain across the region in a matter of hours. The trails were very wet but we rode on. Our trails are built sustainably and are constructed on rock\, meaning they never close.

SUMMARY:Copper Harbor Women's Weekend Clinic
DESCRIPTION:Description\nThe women’s weekend clinic is welcoming to all shapes\, sizes\, colors\, faith\, background\, orientation\, age (over 18) who identify as women.\nAre you a mountain biker looking to sharpen skills? Our coaches are here to help you elevate your riding at a variety of skill levels. We’ll meet you where you are in your riding and guide you forward! Keep in mind\, Copper Harbor’s trails are known for their challenge\, so some experience on single track is recommended. \nYou’ll be paired with coaches based on your skill level and interests\, and everyone will take on Copper Harbor’s unique challenges—at their own pace and in their own style. Our priority is making sure you get what you want out of the weekend and have fun doing it!\nThroughout the weekend\, everyone will get confidence building how-to’s from coaches who have been in your shoes and experienced the same challenges we all face on the trail. We’re not kidding: some of our coaches were once participants too! \nFriday is spent working on foundational skills including bike body separation and bike handling drills. This is often worked on in a grassy area or open space off trail. These basic skills are then brought onto trail Saturday where coaches often will have you session on trail. Sunday you’ll have the chance to choose a special ride to focus on\, including tackling the expert-level Red Trail or going for a scenic ride out on the Keweenaw Point Trail.\nWhen you are signing up for a bike clinic\, you are signing up to work on bike skills. We suggest adding a day or two onto your trip up to Copper Harbor to ride the trails\, practice your learned skills\, and get in all the miles that you want to! \nShuttles\nThe East Bluff Bike Park shuttle is a big rig that every group will get to ride at least once\, saving a trip up one of Copper Harbor’s biggest hills. We won’t be using the shuttles to crush loads of laps because we’ll have 80+ participants\, coaches\, and photographers all sharing one rig. Trips will be scheduled and all groups will get a chance to ride. \nBike Gear\nWhat kind of bike should you bring? The bike you’re most comfortable with! Just about any decent bike with front suspension from the past several years will be more than enough to take on the vast majority of the Copper Harbor trails. Your hardtail will do just fine for nearly all activities. Full suspension bikes are a bonus but not required – don’t feel like you have to upgrade to attend. Helmets are a must! Pads are optional but never hurt if you’ve got ’em. If you are deciding on pedals\, go flat as this will help advance your skills faster. Perhaps the most important piece of gear for your bike you can invest in is a dropper post. If you do not have one yet\, strongly consider upgrading to speed up your downhill transitions\, stability\, and all around comfort on the bike. Otherwise you will be placed in groups with non-E-bike users and you’ll have to ride at their pace. All skill levels of E-bike user are welcome. Let us know if you have any questions! \nWeather\nWe ride rain or shine. The Copper Harbor Trails don’t shut down when it rains and neither will we. A little mud never hurt anyone!
