SUMMARY:4 Peaks Grand Fondo
DESCRIPTION:This cycling event is not run as a sanctioned race\, as a majority of the riders will be participating for the enjoyment of riding a designated route through the beautiful Pocatello and Inkom scenery with their friends and teammates.  \nThat being said\, as any serious cyclist knows\, there is also satisfaction with not only completing an epic bike ride\, but with comparing your times with other riders afterward. The hill climb portions of the event are the only sections timed.  The Valley Ride will not be a timed event.  \nSAFETY IS PARAMOUNT on this ride and as this course will remain open to traffic including narrow mountain roads and occasional unforeseen obstacles\, please be cautious especially on downhill sections. \nThe committee developed this ride in an effort to showcase the amazing riding we have in the Pocatello and Inkom areas\, and of course\, to see who has the legs/guts to battle ALL FOUR PEAKS!

SUMMARY:Phil’s Cookie Fondo
DESCRIPTION:Phil’s Cookie Fondo\, the Sweetest Gran Fondo of All and the Best Day You’ll Ever Have on a Bike!\nIn Phil Gaimon’s years as a pro cyclist\, when he mentioned that he lived in Los Angeles\, people would ask how he could train in a town known only for traffic and movie stars\, but pro teams have held training camps in Malibu for years\, and thanks to Phil’s Fondo\, the rest of the cycling world is starting to know why. \nPhil’s Fondo is his chance to show off the great climbs\, ocean air\, and perfect weather\, to help Los Angeles get the reputation it deserves as a world-class cycling destination. Phil designs the courses himself\, collects rider gifts from his favorite sponsors\, invites his pro friends\, and has an incredible post-ride meal thanks to local celebrity chefs. With 10\,000 gourmet cookies on course\, the food experience alone would be worth the price of registration. \nPhil’s Cookie Fondo 2025 will raise funds for the Los Angeles Chapter of Sierra Club\, which is active in protecting the Santa Monica Mountains where we ride. Come be a part of something fun\, healthy\, and impactful!

SUMMARY:Grand Fondo Florida
DESCRIPTION:The Gran Fondo National Series® was born of a desire to combine the best aspects of bike racing and social rides\, and create events that are fun\, challenging\, competitive\, and inclusive. Our unique timed-segment format gives cyclists of different levels the opportunity to ride together\, race each other\, regroup to swap stories and enjoy the scenery in some of the nations finest cycling destinations. \nGran Fondo National Series has managed and produced more than 60 gran fondos including the Gran Fondo National Championship since 2012\, when the series was first established. Today this national championship\, which utilizes a time section format\, is officially recognized by the America’s governing body of Olympic cycling and is recognized as the official USA Cycling Gran Fondo National Championships. \nFounded in 2012 by event director Reuben Kline\, Gran Fondo National Series is the largest and most competitive series of gran fondo cycling events in the United States. Gran Fondo National Series was the first series to implement timed-segment racing into US gran fondo events\, and has crowned Gran Fondo National Champions and Gran Fondo National Series Champions since 2012. Starting in 2020\, the Series entered into a partnership with USA Cycling to bring the existing Gran Fondo National Series and the one-day Gran Fondo National Championship into the portfolio of official USA Cycling National Championship events. \nWe understand that the Gran Fondo marketplace provides lots of options for cyclists\, so we created this non-all-inclusive list as to what to expect from a Gran Fondo National Series event. Our key crew are all rather serious cyclists\, so we understand what makes a great cycling experience\, and that shows in the quality of our events. \nVenue\n We only use venues that support local cycling and are happy to have us there. \nRoute Marking\nWe take pride in our route marking. We often make the claim\, “You have to try to get lost on one of our routes!” The handful of people who have gotten lost over the last few years were very quick to admit to us that they were talking and otherwise not paying attention to the road markings and arrow signs. \nRoute Quality\n Being cyclists ourselves\, we understand what makes an enjoyable route and strive to only use the best cycling roads in the area. That means we look at road surface\, cross streets and traffic signals\, traffic volume\, shoulder width\, scenery\, and more. \nRoute Difficulty\nWe see our events as goal events\, so we don’t shy away from making them difficult. That said\, we also also make sure the level of challenge is appropriate for cyclists with varying fitness and experience levels. The Gran courses are hard. The medium-length courses (Medio) feature less climbing and are great challenges for new or experienced cyclists with moderate fitness. Our short courses (Piccolo) are perfect for new cyclists\, families\, or anyone looking for a great time with fewer miles. \nFinish line celebration\n We ensure every one of our events finishes with a great party with music (sometimes live)\, delicious food\, and cold drinks (leaded or unleaded) from local vendors. \nTime Section Racing\n While a very small portion of cyclists enjoy hammering for 100 miles\, most want to ride hard and then socialize. As such\, we’ve chosen to go with the much more difficult to time\, timed segment format. This format means you get to ride at your chosen pace\, go full gas during the time section\, and then regroup and ride with friends/family again. \nResults and Live Tracking\nOur results are correct and live. A link to the results is always on our website before you finish.. Your friends and family can always view your last known location via the link on the event page.

SUMMARY:Cheaha Challenge Gran Fondo
DESCRIPTION:The Cheaha challenge was the brainchild of Mike Vickers past president of the Northeast Alabama Bicycle Club\, now the Northeast Alabama Bicycle Association. \nMike had a vision of the bike club holding a ride from Piedmont down Highway 9 up the scenic drive over Cheaha Mountain to Adam’s Gap and back. \nMy first response when Mike told me about his grand idea was: “Who in the world would want to do that?” \nWe were cycling together down Highway 9 early one spring morning in 1990 when I first heard his idea. \nHe explained to me that he wanted to establish a challenging bicycle ride up Cheaha Mountain. When he finished his description\, I thought it was a rather wild idea to say the least. To ride from Piedmont\, down HWY 9 (I could understand this – this area was made for cycling – long\, gentle slopes\, beautiful views.)\, up the Scenic Parkway – all the way – to the top of Cheaha Mountain. Then\, down to Adam’s Gap. Then\, turn around and go back. 102 miles. 8 major climbs in each direction. Over 7\,000 feet of elevation gain. \nBut\, Mike Vickers convinced me that people would want to do it. \nAfter all\, the little town of Wichita Falls\, Texas had a ride called “The Hotter n’ Hell Hundred\,” a hundred mile century ride through north Texas. What’s in Wichita Falls\, really? Why would people want to drive or fly all the way out there to ride 100 miles on a bicycle? In August. Well\, apparently it was fun\, it was challenging and everybody was doing it. This ride is now capped at 10\,000 riders. \nSo\, Mike convinced me that “if we did it” – if we established this ride to the top of the highest point in our state on a scenic drive along the world’s oldest mountain chain – that people would come and ride it. We did\, and\, they have\, ever since spring of 1993. \nThe Cheaha Challenge is now the largest century ride in the State of Alabama and is part of the reason our area is becoming such a destination for cyclists. First\, nature blessed us with the highest mountain in Alabama\, and some of the most beautiful valleys (our Alexandria and Choccolocco Valleys) and with forested mountain bike trails. We have the state’s first rail-trail in our Chief Ladiga Trail. So\, there are many reasons to grab your bike and come to our area. \nA multitude of volunteers and sponsors have made the Cheaha Challenge ride special – it is undoubtedly one of the best-supported century rides anywhere. From the registration people to the safety folks to the smiling faces at all the different rest stops – we welcome our local cyclists and those from afar – California\, France and other places. There’s the friendly folks in this section of Alabama. There’s all the Public Safety groups along the route – out to help if needed and to cheer on the cyclists. Then\, there’s the crazy rest stops – one year there was one with a Tour de France theme complete with the famous Tour devil\, a small Eiffel Tower and even two pretty podium girls. And\, then\, there are the views along Skyline Drive as it leads to the top of Alabama. \nMike Vickers was right. The Cheaha Challenge is worth a drive.

SUMMARY:Dragon Ride
DESCRIPTION:The Dragon Ride 2026 is an event that needs no introduction to cycling enthusiasts. The oldest and most iconic sportive in the UK\, the Dragon Ride  is renowned for being one of the toughest and most legendary rides in the British Isles. This ride is often referred to as one of the Best Gran Fondos in the UK. \nThe first Dragon Ride 2026 was birthed in 2004 by Lou Lusardi\, who was inspired by the popularity of Italian Gran Fondo’s in his home country. Back then\, there were only a handful of sportives in the UK\, but Lou saw an opportunity to bring this type of event to the Bannau Brycheiniog\, better known as the Brecon Beacons. It was an insight that has proven correct and stood the test of time\, with thousands of cyclists now slaying the grueling Dragon Ride each year.
