SUMMARY:Iron Horse Bicycle Classic
DESCRIPTION:Join us as we have a full weekend of racing. Starting with road race\, tour and shorter quarter horse. Followed by Sundays racing. Sunday we have a gravel race and MTB race through downtown Durango including Steamworks Brewery. \nHistory of the Iron Horse in Durango\, Colorado The Origins of the Iron Horse \nBrothers Tom and Jim Mayer concocted the idea behind the first Iron Horse Bicycle Classic. Jim worked as a brakeman on the Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad\, which had operated the steam-powered line between Durango and Silverton since the 1880s. Tom was a young bicycling enthusiast who enjoyed riding alongside the railroad tracks. \nOne day in 1971\, Tom challenged his older brother to a race to Silverton. Steam engine versus bicycle. They wagered a candy bar on the results. \nWhen Jim pulled into the Silverton station\, there was Tom\, waiting for him. He’d beaten the train\, despite having a longer road and having to climb two mountain passes. He won his candy bar\, alright\, and he had no idea that he had just started a famous race that would draw thousands of riders to southwest Colorado. \nYou can read more about the story of the Iron Horse by visiting Tom Mayer’s website here: http://abundantadventures.com/IronHorse/IronHorseClassicOrigin.html \nThe First Iron Horse Bicycle Classic\nTom decided the best way to get others to try his favorite ride was to start a race. So in 1972\, a group of 36 riders celebrated the train’s first run of the spring by accepting his challenge. Five of them managed to beat the train to Silverton\, and it’s been all uphill since then. \nFor the last half-century\, the Iron Horse has become one of the premier bicycle events in the West. Durango is centrally located between Denver\, Albuquerque\, Phoenix\, and Salt Lake City. \nNow\, riders travel to the Iron Horse from every state and several foreign countries. Each year\, thousands of riders experience the thrill of descending into Silverton with hopes of beating the train. And whatever the results\, simply finishing this classic ride is an accomplishment that keeps people coming back year after year to one of the best rides around. \nGrowth of the Iron Horse\nThroughout the years\, several events have been added to the traditional ride to Silverton. We now host Quarter Horse and Pedal Assist Quarter Horse rides to Purgatory\, the Mountain Bike Race\, the Kids Race\, the BMX Straight Rhythm\, and the La Strada La Plata Gravel Ride. We have events for professional racers and everyday enthusiasts. Memorial Day weekend in Durango is always full of cycling events and festivities. In 2018\, we welcomed more than 3800 participants across all events\, and we’re constantly evolving to welcome new styles of riding. \nCome ride with us\, and take part in this inclusive and exciting adventure we call the Iron Horse! \nBACK FOR 2026\nFestivities Downtown Durango! \nFriday May 22nd-  Cycling Festival at Buckley Park. Packet pickup and last minute registration. We will have music and the launch of Faceplant Ale from Steamworks and Ska. \nSaturday May 23rd-  New Categories and Start times for all timed events! Click below for more information. \nSunday May 24th-  MTB/Gravel events all taking place downtown. Mountain Bike event to return to riding through Steamworks Brewery!* \nCycling festival with music at Buckley Park.

SUMMARY:Wente
DESCRIPTION:An 8-Hour mountain bike relay race and family camping extravaganza.\nThe Wente 8-hour mountain bike race is far beyond just your typical relay event. It is a full 3-day weekend expedition for your friends and family in one of the most magical places on earth: Wente Scout Reservation. \nThis team and solo mountain bike race fills very fast because it is limited to just 550 competitors. In reality\, the scale of the event is larger than this because racers come with friends and family. It’s what makes this experience so special. \nWente Scout Reservation plays host to thousands of scouts each year and introduces a large portion of them to the joy of mountain biking. The Wente 8-Hour MTB Relay Race does a lot to contribute to the further development of this program\, and in its way\, the future mountain bikers of America. Whether you’ve been a part of Wente’s regular programming\, or have never been exposed to the world of scouting\, you’re in for a great treat during this weekend.

SUMMARY:Big Boy Clinic
DESCRIPTION:The clinic begins the morning of Friday\, June 5th and finishes the afternoon of Sunday June 7th. Each day will have a combination of drills and skill building\, trail riding to reinforce those drills\, and some free ride time with the coaches in a more free-form atmosphere. We will be in groups of 7-8 with at least two coaches per group (one head\, one assistant). Coaches will rotate through the groups throughout the weekend so you get a variety of perspectives and teaching styles. On Sunday you get to pick which coach you ride with for dedicated training in a variety of fields\, from jumps to drops to climbing and more. We have clinic photographers\, so dress to impress because you never know when your image might be chosen for a billboard\, poster\, or this page’s cover shot! \nCost\nCost for the clinic in 2026 is estimated at $425. This includes 2.5 days of instruction with some of the best coaches in the business\, tasty lunches and snacks each day\, coffee and breakfast bakery one of the mornings\, bonus evening hangouts and info sessions with coaches\, swag\, and\, shuttles at East Bluff on Saturday. A portion of the proceeds from the event help support the Copper Harbor Trails\, making our system even better for your next visit. \nLodging\nOur lodging sponsor is the Bella Vista Motel. Please book there and tell them you are part of the clinic and you will get the spring season rates plus they will donate a portion of the proceeds from each room night we book. Stay there to help support the Copper Harbor Trails Club! \nBike Gear\nYou need a bike that can handle singletrack mountain bike trails and a helmet. Pads are never a bad idea but are not required. If you are deciding on pedals\, go flat as this will help advance your skills faster than clipless (not to mention quicker during repeated sessioning). Full suspension bikes will be more comfortable\, but by all means\, if all you have is a hardtail then don’t feel like you have to upgrade to join. Any bike from the past several years with front suspension will be more than plenty to get you through. Perhaps the most important piece of gear for your bike you can invest in is a dropper post. If you do not have one yet\, strongly consider upgrading to speed up your downhill transitions\, stability\, and all around comfort on the bike. At minimum\, a quick release adjustable seat post is a must. Don’t be that guy who needs five minutes before every hill to adjust your seat because we will leave you behind. \nE-Bikes\nClass 1 E-bikes are welcome into the clinic! If you need an E-bike to get around or just want to save your legs some strain\, feel free to bring yours along. Depending on how many participants with E-bikes there are and their skill level\, we may have dedicated E-bike groups. Otherwise you will be placed in groups with non-E-bike users and you’ll have to ride at their pace. All skill levels of E-bike user are welcome. Let us know if you have any questions! \nWeather\nWe ride rain or shine. In 2018 our weekend ended with the unimaginable Father’s Day flood that struck the Keweenaw\, dumping 5-7″ of rain across the region in a matter of hours. The trails were very wet but we rode on. Our trails are built sustainably and are constructed on rock\, meaning they never close.

SUMMARY:Pikes Peak Apex
DESCRIPTION:The Pikes Peak APEX continues to evolve! For 2026\, we’re excited to introduce a new format – two separate one-day off-road adventures! \nNext year’s event will take place the second weekend in June (June 13–14\, 2026) and will feature two unforgettable days of riding\, both starting and finishing at the beautiful Penrose House in Colorado Springs. \nOn Saturday\, riders will take on the Queen of the Canyons Gravel event\, featuring the same epic route that travels dirt roads to Cañon City and back\, conquering Gold Camp Road\, Shelf Road\, and Phantom Canyon. A shorter course option will also be available\, and timed segments will ensure racing takes place only where it’s safe to do so. \nOn Sunday\, it’s all about the mountains with the APEX Mountain Bike Marathon — an endurance challenge boasting around 5\,000 feet of climbing through the rugged backcountry of the Pikes Peak region. A shorter version (approximately 16 miles) will be offered for those seeking a more approachable ride. \nThe terrain will be demanding yet rewarding\, offering dirt roads\, jeep trails\, and alpine singletrack that showcase the best of Colorado’s mountain riding. Expect a fully supported\, scenic\, and professionally produced experience. \n$20\,000 in cash prizes between both days\, evenly split between men and women. \n\n\n \n \nThe Pikes Peak APEX (June 13-14) is a unique multi-day mountain bike challenge on the slopes of Pikes Peak\, America’s Mountain. \nChoose to race one day\, two days\, or all three days! The event features exhilarating\, exceptionally crafted routes through dirt roads\, jeep trails\, and the amazing alpine singletrack that is quintessential Pikes Peak. The terrain will be challenging\, but not overly technical. This Rocky Mountain trail experience through the aspens in Colorado’s backcountry will draw not only professional riders\, but also amateur cyclists looking for a bucket list endurance experience. \nWe offer a $25\,000 pro purse split evenly between the Pro categories with equal prize lists for open pro and women pro. Amateur categories will be racing for prizes. This is a USA Cycling sanctioned event\, so if you don’t have an annual USAC license\, you must purchase a one-day license which covers you for all three days of the event. \nDo you know a youth that could benefit from free sports camps and scholarships? Click here for more information. \n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n \nThe Mission and Vision\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOur mission is to create a world-class event that drives economic impact to the area in order to improve the trails and open space in the Pikes Peak region for the lasting enjoyment of its residents and visitors. We envision Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak region as an internationally recognized endurance sports destination. \nThe Pikes Peak APEX is a project of the Pikes Peak Outdoor Recreation Alliance which exists to strengthen the outdoor recreation industry for the Pikes Peak region through leadership and collaboration. \n \n  \n

This challenging 100-mile off-road race\, organized by Team Barry-Roubaix \nEvent & Course Info\nIt is a unique experience to celebrate 20 years. This year\, the Lumberjack 100 race course consists of four laps that are 24 miles each. The event features well-stocked aid stations at the start and halfway point\, ensuring riders have the necessary provisions for a successful race. Participants can look forward to receiving swag\, enjoying a post-race meal\, and savoring the taste of Founders beer. Additionally\, the event awards medals and offers a generous prize pool of $7\,000 in awards and cash prizes\, emphasizing the competitive nature of the race. \nOne notable aspect of the Lumberjack 100 is its commitment to equality in the sport. The event offers equal cash payouts for the top men and women finishers\, promoting gender parity and inclusivity in mountain biking. \nWith its challenging terrain\, limited registration spots\, and fantastic support\, the Lumberjack 100 Mountain Bike event has firmly established itself as a premier race in the endurance mountain biking community. However\, due to its immense popularity\, the race sells out quickly every year\, typically within 15 minutes. Suppose you miss out on the initial registration. In that case\, you can join the waitlist on the registration page\, where an automated system moves the first person on the list into the race when an existing racer transfers out.

SUMMARY:Copper Harbor Women's Weekend Clinic
DESCRIPTION:Description\nThe women’s weekend clinic is welcoming to all shapes\, sizes\, colors\, faith\, background\, orientation\, age (over 18) who identify as women.\nAre you a mountain biker looking to sharpen skills? Our coaches are here to help you elevate your riding at a variety of skill levels. We’ll meet you where you are in your riding and guide you forward! Keep in mind\, Copper Harbor’s trails are known for their challenge\, so some experience on single track is recommended. \nYou’ll be paired with coaches based on your skill level and interests\, and everyone will take on Copper Harbor’s unique challenges—at their own pace and in their own style. Our priority is making sure you get what you want out of the weekend and have fun doing it!\nThroughout the weekend\, everyone will get confidence building how-to’s from coaches who have been in your shoes and experienced the same challenges we all face on the trail. We’re not kidding: some of our coaches were once participants too! \nFriday is spent working on foundational skills including bike body separation and bike handling drills. This is often worked on in a grassy area or open space off trail. These basic skills are then brought onto trail Saturday where coaches often will have you session on trail. Sunday you’ll have the chance to choose a special ride to focus on\, including tackling the expert-level Red Trail or going for a scenic ride out on the Keweenaw Point Trail.\nWhen you are signing up for a bike clinic\, you are signing up to work on bike skills. We suggest adding a day or two onto your trip up to Copper Harbor to ride the trails\, practice your learned skills\, and get in all the miles that you want to! \nShuttles\nThe East Bluff Bike Park shuttle is a big rig that every group will get to ride at least once\, saving a trip up one of Copper Harbor’s biggest hills. We won’t be using the shuttles to crush loads of laps because we’ll have 80+ participants\, coaches\, and photographers all sharing one rig. Trips will be scheduled and all groups will get a chance to ride. \nBike Gear\nWhat kind of bike should you bring? The bike you’re most comfortable with! Just about any decent bike with front suspension from the past several years will be more than enough to take on the vast majority of the Copper Harbor trails. Your hardtail will do just fine for nearly all activities. Full suspension bikes are a bonus but not required – don’t feel like you have to upgrade to attend. Helmets are a must! Pads are optional but never hurt if you’ve got ’em. If you are deciding on pedals\, go flat as this will help advance your skills faster. The Copper Harbor Trails don’t shut down when it rains and neither will we. A little mud never hurt anyone!

SUMMARY:Laramie Range Epic
DESCRIPTION:The 2026 race will be held on Saturday July 25th. \nRegistration will open January 1st – Celebrate the New Year by signing up early! (Before we sell out.) \nThe Laramie Range Enduro originated in 1998\, starting in historic Downtown Laramie\, Wyoming. At that time\, the race began with a police escort through town before climbing 1300 feet out of the Laramie valley and into the stunning landscape that graces our backyard to the east – the Pole Mountain Trail System. Over the years this race has transformed to maintain a traditional approach to a cross country race\, while adapting with the evolution of cross country culture. Our first change occurred when the title was changed to the Laramie Enduro. Former Laramie Enduro Board President\, Rich Vincent took over the helm and the race became one of SE Wyoming’s premier cycling events. Eventually\, the Laramie Enduro evolved again into the Laramie Enduro Epic. In that same evolutionary spirit and continuing commitment to a high quality\, fun cross country mountain bike event\, today we are proud to represent ourselves as the Laramie Range Epic. \nThe race crew is excited to bring you the same excellence and professionalism you have come to expect when racing near Laradise\, the home of the Laramie Range Epic.

SUMMARY:Orange Seal Breck Epic
DESCRIPTION:So why Breck Epic? \nLet me explain. No\, there is too much. Let me sum up;  The Breck Epic. Back to the beginning. When mountain biking was about big rides with friends. About lending a hand when a rider went down. About a shared experience that somehow\, flying in the face of all logic\, disproportionately enriched all involved. \nThe Epic is composed of 6 BIG backcountry loops (3 loops for the 3-day Epic-curious events)\, each between 35 and 50 miles long. The event is unique in that it employs a cloverleaf format; each loop starts and finishes within a mile from downtown Breckenridge and utilizes the sprawling network of trails in both Summit and Park Counties. When mapping out the courses we asked ourselves; “What big rides would we want to tackle if we had most of the day to slaughter and 6 of our best friends?” The answer lies before you. The six stages that compose the Epic are a well-rounded rider’s dream. Long rhythmic climbs followed by endless descents that make your smile muscles hurt. \nIn a bizarre way\, we have the assorted governing bodies to thank. Mountain biking seemed like an afterthought for many\, many\, many years. We’ll grant that that’s changing and it’s important to acknowledge that that doesn’t happen with someone pushing it from the inside. But the unintended result of being treated like the proverbial redheaded step-child for a decade-and-a-half is 6-day race in Breckenridge\, CO that lives among a small but thriving handful of kick-ass bucket-list races.
