SUMMARY:Kowtown Gravel
DESCRIPTION:Registration opens January 9\,\nKowTown Gravel is a no-frills\, honest-to-goodness Colorado gravel classic — a high-altitude throwdown through wide-open ranch country and rolling mountain ground in Kremmling\, Colorado. This is cattle country\, not coffee-shop country. The skies are big\, the roads run long\, and the hospitality is the kind you get with a firm handshake and a plate of hot food. If you like your gravel rugged\, your climbs earned\, and your finish line earned twice over\, you’re in the right place. \nRiders can choose from four ranch-tested routes\, each offering its own brand of grit. The Bull Course (88 miles) is the full-grown challenge — long climbs\, sun-baked gravel flats\, and technical descents that don’t give much back. The Cow Course (54 miles) is the sweet spot\, delivering plenty of elevation\, fast gravel\, and just enough sting to keep you honest. The Calf Course (28 miles) rolls smooth and scenic\, perfect for riders looking for a solid day in the saddle without biting off too much. The Cow Dog Course (16 miles) is friendly\, fun\, and wide open — ideal for first-timers\, families\, or anyone who wants to lope along and take in the views. \nAll routes start and finish at West Grand High School\, heading straight into high-country ranchland where gravel roads stretch fencepost to fencepost and traffic is about as common as a closed gate. You’ll ride hard-packed county roads\, doubletrack\, and punchy climbs\, breathing in cool mountain air and soaking up views that don’t quit. Aid stations are well spaced and well stocked\, signage is clear\, and on-course support has your back. This year\, we’ve fine-tuned the courses so every ride brings you home to the same spot — just from the opposite direction. \nWhen you cross the line\, the work’s done — and the fun starts. \nKremmling fires up the grills for a proper finish-line BBQ\, turns up the music\, and invites the whole community out to celebrate. Riders get meal tickets\, free showers\, and a bike wash at West Grand High School. Camping is available\, and the weekend kicks off the night before with a good old-fashioned community spaghetti dinner — the kind where stories start early and get better by morning. \nWhether you’re here to race\, roam\, or just ride till the dust settles\, KowTown Gravel delivers gravel the way it ought to be: tough\, welcoming\, and rooted in the land. This isn’t just another event — it’s a gathering of riders in ranch country\, Colorado-style.
